It’s the first time in 18 years that the coming of September didn’t accompany the need to go back to school. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be out. Whether for now or for good, I need some space to reflect on life. What I didn’t expect, however, was the instant monotony that set in due to the lack of a new semester, new courses, and new peers. The school system provided a life-reset, a level-up. It was something to look forward to. With work, the days began to merge into one another effortlessly. The result was a feeling of wasted time and wasted life.
I needed to know what made me happy. Obviously, I wasn’t looking for some objective, universal, answer, but moreso, “what makes me happy today?”
